Had a slow but good practice flight this morning. I had the opportunity to provide a weather briefing and outlook for the ~15 pilots or so who chose to fly this morning. Winds up to 3000 feet agl were at or below 5 mph generally out of a northerly direction. From the launch point suggested by balloonmeister David Levin, we were able to slowly inch our way across the eastern side of Waco. The hot stagnant air down here is incredible, glad we only have one flight each day.
Otherwise, ate at a really good BBQ restaurant last night, and had my first bottle of Shiner (a Texas beer that is quite tasty).
Plan to work on the hotel internet connection this afternoon to get the data I need to be ready for competition on Tuesday.
